Frequently Asked Questions
What if my dog can't be off leash?
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret - 99% of the dogs I photograph are on leash. Leashes can be edited out in post-processing fairly easily. So rest assured, we'll get photos of your dog "off leash!"

What level of training does my dog need?
NONE!! Well, if he/she knows their name that's helpful, but your dog does not need to be an agility star by any means. While a high level of training is great, it's not required to get great photos.
Can I be in the photos with my dog?
Yes, yes, yes, please!!!
I encourage that owners be in photos with their dogs.

Where do sessions take place? How far do you travel?
There are some really nice dog-friendly spots in Chittenden County that are great for photos that I'll suggest, but I'm open to ideas! If you have a special spot you like to go with your dog, let me know. I will travel as far as I need to (within reason!) For locations outside of a 50 mile radius of Colchester, VT there is a travel fee of $1/mile traveled.
My dog is reactive. How do you handle that?
I also have a...how do I put it nicely...difficult dog at home so I understand reactive dogs! This dog in particular inspired me to learn more about dog behavior and I hold a certificate in Applied Animal Behavior through the University of Washington as well as a training certification through Animal Behavior College. We can take extra time with your dog, doing some desensitization and counter-conditioning to me and my camera using positive reinforcement if necessary. If there's a location your dog is most comfortable at, we can definitely do the session there. As for dogs with a bite history toward people, let's chat before booking a session. Safety and comfort for your dog is my number one priority.
Do you do commercial work? Photos for websites?
Yes! I love working with breeders to create high-quality images of their dogs that show conformation and personality! Photos speak a thousand words and you want to tell the world how great your dogs are, right?
Visit Wright's Mountain Goldens to see my work with their dogs!
